Nicky is a writer and artist.

Nicky is a contributing writer at the Cleveland Review of Books and a poetry fellow at Brooklyn Poets. They publish a Substack with Alyse Burnside called All My Dead Pitches.

As culture writer at the Texas Observer they wrote about film, art, books, Texan artists, and Texas history. Their criticism and reporting has appeared in the Brooklyn Rail, Texas Monthly, and Dissent. They authored two editions of a guidebook of Austin, their hometown, for Emons Publishing.

Nicky has published poetry, prose, and photography in literary magazines and is at work on a lyric essay project and a video performance piece about trans embodiment and history. They participated in the 2023 Sewanee Writers’ Conference for nonfiction.
